1. OPENING. The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by President, Bob Reed. There were 6 members present and one guest.
2. MINUTES: Minutes of the meeting of November 1, 2008 were read and accepted.
3. TREASURER'S REPORT: There were no deposits or expenses. Our current balance remains at $890.27.
4. COMMITTEE REPORTS:
A. NOMINATION: No report.
B. MEMBERSHIP: No report.
C. FINANCE: No report.
D. CONVENTION: No report.
E. WEBSITE REPORT: We sent updated site information to as many existing links as we could find asking them to change us to www.deepsouthchipclub.com. We have not had success in contacting Ed Bigley to remove the old website. Articles of interest can be sent to the Webmaster. We will check with Laurie Sussan at Gaming South for permission to reprint articles on our website. Remember that the website takes the place of the newsletter.
5. OLD BUSINESS: No report.
6. NEW BUSINESS:
The DSCC club may cease to exist. We will be deciding about its future as we progress through 2009. Meetings are scheduled for May 16, August 8 and November 7. Dates have been confirmed with The Island View as they continue to offer us a meeting space. In deciding about the future of the club, several thoughts were brought to the table:
- Club member participation is key
- Life members will be reimbursed for dues on a prorated basis
- A donation to the chip museum may be made with the balance of funds in the treasury or to a local charity
7. DOOR PRIZES: Everyone present received a prize. Thanks to Clinton Boyle for handling this.
8. 50/50 DRAWING: None.
9. ANNOUNCEMENTS: None.
